The Story

Great clothing can feel good. We think it should also do good. It started with one quarter zip on a table and a question that wouldn't leave us alone. What if the two weren't separate at all.

This is where feeling good starts. In the fabric, the stitch, the fit. We hold every piece to a standard most brands don't bother with, because if it doesn't feel right first, nothing else matters.

This is where doing good starts. Every piece carries its own Impact ID, tied to a real project, fully documented, fully traceable. Not a donation. Not a percentage. A piece of clothing that actually does something.

How it Works

Most brands tell you they give back. Few tell you where the money actually goes.

At Marcelo, our first job is the clothing: the fit, the fabric, the quality that makes a piece worth wearing for years, not seasons. That's what we're here to do. But we also believe a brand can hold two things at once: make something excellent, and put something real back into the world along the way.

Here's how.

The Model

5% of our profit goes into the Marcelo Impact Fund. Not sales, not a marketing budget line. Profit, tracked and set aside on every order.

That fund is used to build a single a water well. Each project has a fixed cost, say $10,000, and every garment we sell carries that project's Marcelo Impact ID on the label, so you know exactly which build your purchase is contributing to.

Once a project hits its funding target, it's built. Then the label moves to the next Impact ID, and the next project begins. No two garments funding the same project forever, no vague "a portion of proceeds" language, just a running, visible record of what's been built, one project after another.

Build. Give. Leave.

We choose projects deliberately: initiatives that are sustainable and low-maintenance once complete. A well that doesn't need Marcelo to run it. We're not trying to become a permanent fixture in every community we work in. We build it properly, hand it over, and leave it in the hands of the people who'll actually use it.

That's on purpose. We're a clothing brand, not an NGO, and pretending otherwise would be its own kind of dishonesty. Our focus stays on making great clothing. The Impact Fund is what that focus makes possible.

Full Accountability

Every Impact ID project is documented from groundbreaking to completion: photos, footage, and updates from the ground, not a press release after the fact. We travel to the build. We show you the well, not just a receipt.

We'd rather show you one project, done properly and in full, than claim to support fifty causes we can't actually account for. That's the difference between giving and disappearing, and pointing at a receipt.
